Silymarin is a kind of favonolignan compound, extracted from the seed capsule of milk thistle (Silybum Marianum).It’s yellow powder with bitter taste,easily soluble in acetone, ethyl acetate, ethanol and methanol, slightly soluble in chloroform and insoluble in water.The main ingredients are: silibinin A and B, isosibilinin A and B, silicristin, silidianin.
